Lifting the Protocol for Entry into the Republic of Serbia with regulation of status of foreigners
At the meeting of the Government of Republic of Serbia, held on 21 May 2020, pursuant to the recommendation of the Crisis Response Team for the Suppression of Infectious Disease COVID-19, it has been decided that the previously regulating protocol for entry into the Republic of Serbia is being put out of force. This has significantly simplified the procedure of entering the country in a surprisingly short period of time and enabled free entry into the Republic of Serbia for both domestic and foreign citizens.
With the amendments to the Decree on Declaring Covid-19 disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus a Contagious Disease, dated 22 May 2020, a possession of negative PCR test or self-isolation for 14 days are no longer required, and neither is obtaining a mandatory permit for entry into the country issued by the working body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for foreign citizens.
All persons entering the Republic of Serbia shall be given a written notice during passport control, which will warn them of the fact that they are entering the territory where the epidemic is still present, as well as informing them about the ways to prevent COVID-19 infection.
Also, the status of foreign citizens whose temporary residence permit had expired after the declaration of the state of emergency, is regulated in such a way that they have the possibility of free entry into the country until 01 July 2020, with submission of the request for its renewal within 30 days from the day of the entry into the country. Upon such entry, it will be considered that the temporary residence permit is still valid, but foreign citizens will be obliged to stay in the Republic of Serbia until the end of the procedure for the renewal of temporary residence.
